Puppies are 3 Weeks Old

The litter was 3 weeks old yesterday! They are growing up right in front of our very eyes. We truly can see a difference in their size and aptitudes on a daily basis. We will be introducing solid foods this week, but we captured this nursing session to share the imprinting that occurs with early scent training. Each puppy is exposed to the scent of low blood sugar levels. This not only conditions the pups in the litter who will continue with this life-saving work in their new homes, but it also aids in the litter's overall development, while sharpening the senses of the other puppies who will not need this expertise in their future lives as pets. We are honored to be training two of the puppies in this litter to assist their new families as Diabetic Alert Dogs. Each puppy is so special, and they each will fill a unique roll within their new family that will love them forever!
